Hope everyone is having a good week. The weather is crazy. Cold one day, hot the next, and right now it looks and feels like storms. We could use some more rain. My garden is looking good, so any help is appreciated.
Let’s continue to remember some of ours in prayer. Nell Largent is in the hospital with some swallowing issues. As I write, she is in for a scope. At last report, Bill Simmons still was not doing well. Shannon Smith, Sandi Adams’ daughter, continues to improve. There will be a benefit for her family on March 28th at noon at TNT Diner. We continue to pray for Pat McGriff’s sister-in-law as well as Mary Abernathy’s nephew’s wife. I hope I got all that right.j
We continue to study from James. I have loved studying for it. This week we get to chapter 3 and talk about the smallest, yet most powerful part of the body- the tongue. My podcast on Friday will also discuss what the Proverbs have to say about our tongue. The sermon title is “Only you can prevent forest fires.”
AA continues to thrive. They are averaging 13 each week. Praise God!
We are starting a new project. Our mission is to provide each home in the Waurika Housing Authority with an Easter meal. Our noisy money we collect each Sunday will go to this, or you can make a donation. This will entail a lot of effort to purchase, package, and deliver this. It gives us an opportunity to go into the community and let people see we are trying to be the voice and the feet of Jesus. It reminds me of the Great Commission which says, “Go into all the world and make disciples of everyone”. That is a Hodgepodge paraphrase.
Several aren’t feeling well. I know Women’s Bible Study was cancelled this week because of this. We are praying everyone gets well soon.
For our teachers and students, just think- 1 more week of school before spring break!
See you Sunday.
Everett
