Hodgepodge – February 26, 2026

It’s spring time.  I have my onions planted.  How about you?  With this beautiful weather, is it too early to plant squash? Probably.

Pastor Everett Hodges

I take my hat off to Jennifer Aldridge and all of her helpers for putting on the Kevin Thompson family benefit this Saturday night.  Spaghetti and all the trimmings for $10.00 sounds like a great meal to me. It begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be in the Methodist Church fellowship hall.

This Sunday, March 1st, is the time for our monthly potluck dinner.  All are welcome. Come to church at 10:30 and stay for a great meal and time of fellowship.

Our last 2 sermons have stressed how when we have authentic faith, we are willing and excited about doing good works for God.  I encourage all of us to look for good deeds to do around our community.

I saw a “God” thing last Sunday morning.  We have been blessed with the attendance of a young lady named Rachel Wilson and her young son Westlee for a few weeks.  Last Sunday morning, I saw Hope Henderson ask Westlee if he wanted to help be one of the acolytes.  Those are little things that make people feel like they are a part of our family.  For all of you that do little things that no one even notices, we love you.

A reminder that the Gypsy group of AA will meet again tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. at the church building.

I love spending time with my brothers and sisters that work at the food pantry.  Several show up to get it ready on Thursday mornings for the rush of people early Friday.  This is a great cause.  On Sunday we are going to launch another project for our church.  I think you will be excited to help.

Let’s continue to remember those in need of prayer. James 5:13 says “Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray.” See you Sunday.

Everett
